Dr. Errol L. Fields awarded a Johns Hopkins Center for AIDS Research Scholar Grant for Faculty Development

Dr. Errol L. Fields, Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics, Division of General Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine was awarded a Johns Hopkins Center for AIDS Research Scholar Grant for Faculty Development. This award provides $50,000 for a pilot grant to a junior faculty member and is intended to strengthen  the awardee’s ability to secure independent NIH research funding. Dr. Fields research study entitled  “Geosocial Networking (GSN) Applications: An avenue for Innovative Target HIV Control Strategies among Young Black MSM” will focus on understanding how GSN smartphone applications used as sex partner meeting venues among MSM may be shaping sexual networks among young Black MSM and how public health practitioners can use them to identify and access those sex networks with the greatest risk for ongoing transmission.
